Introduction
The Repair Cost Estimator is pre-built with navigation buttons and sort/filter functions that allow you to quickly analyze your estimate by Scopes of Work, Labor, Material & Subcontracted work as well as DIY items.
But we understand that you may want analyze the estimate by other types information, such as by rooms, by areas, by contractors, or any other field that may be useful for analyzing your project estimate.
Example: Sorting Costs by Room
On the right, you will find 2 columns where you can create your own custom sorting fields.
For this example, the 1st Field I have created is By Room which I will use to analyze estimated costs by rooms in the property.
I am mostly interested in my estimated kitchen costs, so I am going to place the word kitchen next to all kitchen work items within the estimate.
Once I’ve placed Kitchen next to all Kitchen work items, I can use the sort/filter feature to sort and show the kitchen work items and their costs Using the box button in the upper right hand corner of the column
Once clicked, a dropdown menu will appear , which will have a breakdown of rooms included in the estimate. Deselect the checked boxes, and only select Kitchen to show kitchen items only.
As you can see, the spreadsheet sorted the estimate to only show work items that were identified as Kitchen. The total estimated costs for the kitchen scope of work are totaled at the top, so you now know how much you are spending on your kitchen.
Custom sorting is a powerful feature that allows you to dig deeper into your estimate and analyze estimate data as needed for your projects & business.
